LEBANON, Ind. (Feb. 27, 2026) – Indiana Governor Mike Braun today announced that NewCold, a global leader in advanced automated temperature-controlled warehouses, will expand its operations in Lebanon, marking the company’s third major investment since 2020. To support its growth, the company plans to create more than 200 new high-wage jobs by the end of 2028. “NewCold’s third expansion in Indiana is a testament that global companies can build a robust operation here,” said Gov. Braun. “With a central location, a skilled workforce and a committed community, NewCold has all the tools and resources needed to serve its customers and succeed here in the center of the U.S.” NewCold, which is headquartered in the Netherlands, announced initial plans to locate at the Lebanon Business Park in 2020 and has invested $300 million over two phases in the site. Now, the company will invest more than $500 million in its third phase of growth, constructing and equipping a new facility just south of its existing operation. The new facility will stand at approximately 141 feet tall, featuring three high-bay areas serving both frozen and chilled temperature zones. For NewCold’s customers, this expansion translates to increased capacity, faster throughput, and a more diversified service offering, all necessary as food brands navigate growth, supply chain complexity and rising demand for quality and consistency. The expansion is expected to create over 350 construction jobs and over 200 permanent positions once operational, representing a significant investment in the local workforce and Lebanon’s long-term economic development. NewCold plans to hire for a variety of positions, including warehouse operations, maintenance, logistics coordination and supervisory roles. "This milestone reflects NewCold's commitment to redefining temperature-controlled logistics on a global scale," said Bram Hage, NewCold Founder & CEO. "By combining advanced automation with unprecedented capacity, we're creating a flexible solution that allows our customers to grow with the quality, efficiency, and service they expect from a true partner." NewCold was launched in 2012 and is now the world’s third-largest refrigerated food logistics provider, delivering advanced temperature-controlled supply chain solutions. The company operates 26 state-of-the-art, highly automated and energy-efficient warehouses on three continents offering a combined capacity of more than 2 million pallet positions. NewCold works with leading food companies to provide end-to-end supply chain solutions powered by proprietary technology and backed by a team of more than 3,000 people from more than 40 cultures. "Lebanon continues to prove that we are a premier destination for global innovation. NewCold choosing our city for its largest project worldwide is a testament to our strategic location and our commitment to fostering a pro-business innovative environment. We are proud to support this expansion that brings additional high-quality jobs and significant investment to our community, further solidifying Lebanon’s role as a leader in the modern supply chain," said Lebanon Mayor Matt Gentry. The Indiana Economic Development Corporation committed an investment in NewCold of up to $4 million in the form of incentive-based tax credits and up to $2 million in conditional redevelopment tax credits on the company’s phase two and phase three expansion plans to invest more than $600 million and create up to 300 new jobs. These incentives are performance-based, meaning the company is eligible to claim state benefits once investments are made and jobs are created.
